To achieve that Happily Ever After, the process involved is as follows
1/ Complete a Notice of Intended Marriage form (NOIM), this form once complete and signed by an authorised witness, generally the celebrant, will be valid for a period of 18 months
2/ Provide proof of Identification (Passports are the best, if not then Birth Certificates and Drivers Licences). Also proof of divorce if applicable and/or death certificate of spouse if applicable.
3/ Meet and book a Civil Marriage Celebrant (ensure you are happy with who you pick, and that the services offered are to your liking)
4/The minimum timeframe a couple can marry is 30 days from completing and having signed the Notice of Intended Marriage with the witness details and signature. There are certain exceptions to this rule and a “Shortening of Time” can be applied for if it is;
Employment related/travel commitments
Wedding or celebration arrangements/ religious considerations
Medical reasons
Legal proceedings
Error in giving notice
5/ A Declaration of No legal Impediment is completed and signed by the couple closer to the wedding day acknowledging there is nothing preventing both from marrying.
6/ At the wedding you will sign 3 documents, as will your nominated witnesses who must be over 18 years of age.
7/ Once wedding is complete, I have 14 days to scan all documents and lodge with Births Deaths and Marriages.
8/ As a general rule you should receive your Official Marriage Certificate sent to your nominated address by registered post, the following week.

Stating the legal vows
Having two witnesses (who must be 18 years or older)
